About the beginning...

Belle du Jour was set up by Make-up Artist Louisa Murray, who has over ten years experience within the industry. Louisa started her apprenticeship in New York, where she was first assistant to leading make-up artist Aaron DeMey. She was later introduced to the wedding sector by international artist Lucia Pieroni on campaigns and shows for Vera Wang. The world's most eminent wedding designer. Building on previous experience she learned the subtlety of bridal make-up.

In 2002, Louisa moved to London and built a large client-base from many different industries including fashion, film and advertising. Three years on, she started her occasions make up business as a result of both friend and client requests.

Louisa's key strength lies in the simple belief that make-up enhances existing beauty as opposed to radically altering appearance or covering it up. Consequently the end result is flawless, beautiful skin. She still pursues her fashion and commercial career to keep her in touch with ever-changing trends within the industry.
